Terms of Service

Last updated July 16, 2026. Please read these terms before purchasing a service or using this site.

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your use of theholisticcanine.us (the “Site”) and any service, meal plan, consultation, or digital product you purchase from The Holistic Canine, LLC (“The Holistic Canine,” “we,” or “us”). By using the Site or purchasing from us, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site or purchase our services.

1. We are nutrition professionals, not veterinarians

This is the most important thing on this page. Kimberly Lloyd holds a PhD in Holistic Nutrition and Naturopathy, is a Board-Certified Holistic Health Practitioner, and is a Certified Canine & Feline Clinical Nutritionist. She is not a licensed veterinarian, and The Holistic Canine does not practice veterinary medicine.

We do not diagnose, prescribe medications, or replace your veterinarian. Our services are nutritional formulation and education intended to work alongside your veterinary team, never in place of them. Nothing we provide — including any plan, consultation, report, blog article, or the eBook — is veterinary advice, a diagnosis, or a treatment plan.

  • Always maintain an active relationship with a licensed veterinarian for your animal.
  • Never delay, disregard, or discontinue veterinary care, medication, or a prescribed therapeutic diet because of something we told you or something you read on this Site.
  • If your animal is showing signs of illness or distress, contact your veterinarian or an emergency veterinary hospital immediately. Do not contact us for emergencies — we cannot help, and the delay could harm your animal.
  • Decisions about your animal’s care remain yours, made together with your veterinarian. You are responsible for those decisions.

2. What we provide

We offer individually formulated nutrition services for dogs and cats, along with a digital eBook. Current services and prices are listed on the relevant service pages, and the price shown at checkout governs. We may change our offerings and prices at any time; changes do not affect a service you have already purchased.

Meal plans and clinical formulations are prepared specifically for the individual animal described in your intake form. They are not transferable to another animal — not even another animal in your household — and are not suitable for general use. A plan formulated for one animal can be actively harmful to another.

3. Your responsibilities

The quality and safety of what we formulate depends entirely on the accuracy of what you tell us. You agree to provide complete and truthful information about your animal — including weight, age, diagnosed conditions, medications, supplements, allergies, and current diet — and to tell us promptly if any of it changes.

You are responsible for following your plan as written, for sourcing and handling ingredients safely, and for monitoring your animal. Raw ingredients carry handling risks for both animals and humans, including bacterial exposure. You agree to follow safe food-handling practices and to consider the health of everyone in your household — particularly infants, elderly people, pregnant people, and anyone immunocompromised — when choosing to feed raw.

4. Purchases and payment

Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. All prices are in US dollars. By purchasing, you confirm you are authorised to use the payment method and that the information you provide is accurate.

5. Delivery and timing

After purchasing a plan or clinical service, you will receive an intake form. Formulation begins only once we receive your completed intake form — not at the moment of purchase. Estimated turnaround times are stated on the relevant service page and are estimates, not guarantees. Cases requiring review of veterinary diagnostics may take longer, and incomplete intake information will delay your plan.

Consultations are scheduled through our booking calendar after payment. If you need to reschedule, please give as much notice as you reasonably can. Repeated missed appointments without notice may be treated as a completed session.

6. Refunds and cancellations

Our services are bespoke professional work, and the eBook is a digital product delivered instantly. Our policy reflects that:

  • eBook: all sales are final once the download is delivered. Because it is delivered immediately on purchase, it cannot be returned.
  • Meal plans and clinical services: refundable in full any time before formulation work begins. Once we have begun the work, the purchase is non-refundable, because the work has already been performed.
  • Consultations: refundable in full if cancelled before the scheduled session. A session that has taken place is non-refundable.
  • We may cancel and fully refund any purchase at our discretion — for example, if a case falls outside our scope or is better served by a veterinary specialist.

To request a refund, email kim@theholisticcanine.us. Refunds are not available on the basis that a plan did not produce a particular health outcome — see section 9.

7. Your plan, the eBook, and what you may do with them

When you purchase a plan or the eBook, you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it for your own animals. You may not resell, republish, redistribute, share, or use it commercially, and you may not present our formulations as your own work.

All content on this Site — text, articles, images, branding, and formulation methodology — remains our property and is protected by copyright. You may share links to our articles freely; please do not reproduce them wholesale.

8. Client portal

If your purchase includes portal access, you are responsible for keeping your email account secure, since signing in works by emailed link. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has accessed your account. Please do not upload anything you do not have the right to share.

9. No guaranteed outcomes

We formulate to recognised nutritional standards and apply our professional judgement carefully. We cannot and do not guarantee any particular health result. Animals are individuals; they respond differently to the same diet, and outcomes depend on genetics, disease progression, veterinary treatment, environment, and how precisely a plan is followed. Any results described on this Site are illustrative, not promises, and are not a prediction of what will happen for your animal.

The Site and its content are provided on an “as is” basis without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Holistic Canine and Kimberly Lloyd will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Site or our services. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you actually paid us for the service giving rise to that claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your misuse of our services, your breach of these Terms, your provision of inaccurate information about your animal, or your sharing of a plan formulated for your animal with anyone else.

12. Third-party services

We rely on third parties to operate — including Stripe for payments, Cal.com for scheduling, and Supabase for the client portal. Your use of those services is also governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party sites we link to.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “last updated” date above will change when we do. The Terms in effect at the time of your purchase govern that purchase.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Georgia.
